The Oswald Supporting Organization of the Greater Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $161,867 to eight nonprofit organizations:
Catholic Charities, Dioceses of Toledo – $10,000 was awarded to support the Helping Hands of St. Louis outreach center.
JumpStart – $25,000 was awarded to provide mentoring and technical assistance to entrepreneurs.
Lourdes University – $20,000 was awarded to support the Den project.
Lucas County CASA - Citizen Review Board Volunteer Association – $30,000 was awarded to support the volunteer Guardian Ad Litem program.
Read for Literacy – $10,000 was awarded to support the Creating Young Readers program.
The First Tee of Lake Erie – $25,000 was awarded to support golf lessons and life skills programming for youth.
Toledo Alliance for Performing Arts – $18,000 was awarded to support the Community Music Lessons program.
YWCA of Northwest Ohio – $23,867 was awarded to support renovations to the children’s play areas of the Domestic Violence Shelter.
The Oswald Supporting Organization was created by the late Joan and Chuck Oswald in 2000 to support projects in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan that enable families to develop skills to nurture each other and to promote the advancement, self-sufficiency and intellectual, social, emotional and cultural growth of woman and children.
