Purpose: Give assistance to nursing personnel. To maintain an organized

System for the unit they are assigned to.

Responsible To: Neighborhood Director and Director of Nursing.

Qualifications:

1.) State Tested Nurse Aide

2.) Working knowledge of typing and computer.

3.) Ability to communicate effectively with Director of Nursing, nursing and other allied health personnel.

4.) Ability to follow procedures and suggest changes for

smooth operation.

5.) Personal attributes to include neatness, accuracy and

honesty.

Physical Requirements:

1.) Must be in good physical and mental health.

2.) Must possess a current health-certificate-examination as required by state agencies.

Standards:

1.) A good attendance record is required.

2.) Abide by the facility dress code.

3.) Ability to perform assignments in an organized, competent

and efficient manner.

4.) Ability to work under supervision and cooperate with staff.

5.) Patience and tact in dealing with residents, guests and staff.

6.) Participate in in-service education sessions as well as having the desire to seek additional knowledge.

7.) Confidentiality a Must!

8.) Greet others in a friendly manner with a Christ-like demeanor.

9.) Provide positive, noteworthy customer service.

10.) Anticipate and attend to resident needs.

11.) Exceed resident and family expectations.

Responsibilities:

1.) Scheduling for Unit

2.) Cover all call ins for Unit

3.) Do aide assignment sheets

4.) Assist in filling out lab requisitions, report backs, POA and

Doctor notified of report.

5.) Telephone orders – check to make sure charted and POA

notified.

6.) Set Up appointments/transportations (cancellations if

needed)

7.) Assign staff to go on appointments if needed.

8.) Get folders ready for appointments.

9.) Keep supplies on hand; keep form drawer stocked,

and keep supply of admission and re-admission

packets available (get from Medical Records)

10.) Help make copies for Resident transfers.

11.) Help fill out admission papers for nurse.

12.) Copy 24 hour reports for appropriate staff

13.) Keep 24 hour sheet updated.

14.) Answer phone on unit, using proper phone etiquette.

15.) Feed at meal times.

16.) Cover floor if necessary

17.) Accu-Check and syringe billing

18.) Keep seniority list updated

19.) Keep telephone list of employees updated.

20.) Do timecards for payroll

21.) Take papers to and from doctors if needed

22.) Daily list of nurses for each unit to receptionist

23.) Order supplies weekly

24.) Put weekly supplies away to appropriate storage areas.

25.) All other duties as assigned
