8th graders from McKinley STEM Academy took a Solar Energy Art Tour at Toledo Museum of Art to discuss the intersection between art and solar energy. Students were asked probing questions while observing specific art pieces at the Museum. They also created an art project based on their observations.

Students observed a glass blowing demonstration by Chuchen Song, a renowned glass artist. She highlighted what glass is made of and how glass blowing works from a scientific and artistic perspective.

In the coming months, students will work with a solar artist and TMA glass artists to build a solar public art sculpture.
