Purpose:

 

This role will lead the development department. They will develop and maintain an overarching plan to create and sustain revenue sources, in partnership with all Leadership staff, for all parts of Cherry Street Mission. They will also manage a portfolio of donors, from which they will create appropriate asks and maintain relationships.  Their leadership and managerial responsibilities will cover the areas of Grants, Major Gifts Officer and Marketing/Messaging Manager and their accompanying downlines of staff.

 

Essential Functions:

·       Research and develop a diverse set of revenue strategies for Cherry Street Mission, including any of its subsidiaries. Responsible for income budget annually.

·       Develop and maintain processes through working with internal teams, to actualize revenue strategic plans

·       Develop, track and analyze any appropriate metric to ensure that all strategies are effective and adjust as needed.

·       Lead Donor Care department (i.e. Major Gifts Officer, and all other direct donor staff).  Emphasize relationship building as a core value and develop and maintain charitable giving strategy for all personal giving. Use and train the life cycle of a donor model, incorporating it into the Customer Relationship Management system. Incorporate a monthly donor system in planning. Incorporate Family Foundations in donor care.

·       Lead Marketing/Messaging department.  Develop the annual strategy including use of consulting agencies as needed. Insure annual calendar of messaging (i.e. media, mailing, social media, special mailings, internal, etc.)  is developed and acted upon.

·       Lead Grants staff developing strategy for any public grants submission and follow through post grant award or denial

·       Lead all annual events, assigning appropriate staff members and projected goals

·       Lead Customer Relationship Management system for efficiency and coordination with the Accounting department.

·       Lead strategy for legacy giving/endowment or planned giving and assign to appropriate staff for execution

·       Research and find new revenue opportunities either through best practices of other NFP’s or creative visioning.  Work with CEO and President to bring appropriate ideas to life inside of the organization.

·       Develop and maintain vibrant connections with appropriate individuals in the community: local, regional, state and federal to influence and advocate for funding for individuals facing poverty and homelessness.

·       Work in conjunction with CEO and President to develop strategic plan for all future projects including Capital Projects

Qualifications

Education and Experience

·       Bachelor Degree preferred

·       5+ years experience in NFP management/executive leadership

·       Previous experience in philanthropy

·       Previous grant writing with successful award

Lifting Requirements

·        Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
