Catholic Charities–Diocese of Toledo is seeking a full-time Residential Specialist for the La Posada Family Emergency Shelter in Toledo, Ohio.
Position Objective
The Residential Specialist is responsible for maintaining a positive living environment for residents staying in the facility. They ensure the ongoing order, cleanliness, and safety of the facility are sustained. They provide customer-friendly service to our residents while ensuring that they all follow house policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
- Completes shift duties and responds to residents' needs, providing customer-friendly service.
Ensures that our residents follow house policies and procedures, maintain their daily schedules, and complete assigned responsibilities (such as laundry and medication maintenance).
Completes administrative duties, including, but not limited to, answering phones and greeting visitors in a courteous and friendly manner, creating a weekly menu, grocery list, and schedule of responsibilities for residents.
Maintain activity logs and reports. Communicate necessary information to the Case Manager and Program Coordinator in a timely and clear manner.
Upon resident arrival, assists with moving in. Upon resident departure, cleans and prepares rooms for future resident occupancy.
- Manage and assist residents with periodic house meetings, house activities, and workshops.
Qualifications
High school diploma required or general equivalency degree (GED).
At least 1 year of relevant work experience in a social services environment is desirable.
Must have (or be willing to obtain) and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
Successful BCI/FBI background check, prior to employment, and every 5 years.

Ability to prepare meals from an established meal plan and monitor approved food preparation activity of house guests.
