Part-Time Mentor Coordinator

Title: Mentor Coordinator

Opportunity
The long-term part-time Mentor Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment of other volunteer mentors, matching these volunteers with students referred to the program from their educational institution and is a liaison between the school staff and the volunteers. The Mentor Coordinator will also serve as a mentor themselves to students needing the guidance and support of responsible adults in our community on a variety of real life challenges.
Responsibilities
· Recruiting compassionate and capable volunteers in support of the mentoring mission
· Collaborating with school staff as an advocate for the availability of mentoring availability and the referral of students to the program.
· Coordinate space and time needs with appropriate school staff so that the mentor/mentee meetings can successfully take place.
· Monitor and evaluate all mentor/mentee relationships and make suggestions to advance that relationship in a positive way.
· Assist with weekend and school break food distribution as needed to ensure that all students receive the necessary resources so they are not food insecure during non-school hours.
· Track all data points on the mentoring program on a regular basis established between the Executive Director and the Mentoring Coordinator including but not limited to – mentor/mentee relationships, participation levels, demographic data, mentor/mentee feedback to ensure the program is constantly advancing in the best interests of its participants, waiting lists and program needs - to ensure the OCFAC Executive Director and Board of Directors have a real time view of the success and challenges of the Mentoring program.
· Capability to perform your role from multiple possible locations as needed including our offices, the mentee’s school or from your home.
· Other job responsibilities may be added from time to time in support the evolution of this position with the OCFAC.
Skills and Experiences for Success
· High School Diploma required, but advanced education a plus.
· Basic computer knowledge and competency is required. Experience in Google form, Excel, Adobe and Word are strongly preferred in this role.
· Past experience working in a public educational system with the students of that system is preferred
· Previous advocacy experience on behalf of a program or product, whether in a for-profit or non-profit is required. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a history of strong public speaking experience as part of their program or product advocacy
· Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
· Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and deadlines
· Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
· Resilience and an energetic and positive attitude able to adapt to ever changing program needs
· Flexibility with working hours, including evening hours, from time to time, as may be required to advance the Program
