Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Marketing Coordinator will be to further the Mission of Zoar by managing Zoar’s marketing and communication plan for both electronic and print platforms, maintaining the Zoar brand, and coordinating Zoar's visibility through website, social media, public relations, and advertising. This position is for a maximum of 20 hours per week.

4. Attend a Zoar worship service at least monthly to better understand communication needs.
5. Endeavor through words and actions to be a worthy example of Christian living.
Responsibilities
1. Create, produce, and/or assist with all marketing, advertising, and communications for Zoar.
2. Utilize existing social media platforms to implement appropriate and effective marketing and communications to Zoar’s members of all ages and the community.
3. Oversee and improve a comprehensive electronic contact list of Zoar’s membership for both online and print marketing and communication.
4. Maintain and improve Zoar’s website content, ensuring the content to be accurate, current, and relevant.
5. Oversee the creation, editing, and distribution of Zoar's weekly Z-Blast and other as needed communications.
6. Produce, edit, and/or oversee all Zoar’s electronic publications (for use with new members, guests, the congregation, and external advertising) to maintain accessible and consistent messaging.
7. Design, edit, and/or oversee all Zoar’s print publications (brochures, newspaper ads, signs, postcards, web postings, etc.) to maintain a consistent style and brand.
8. Establish relationships with local vendors and service providers who can be utilized to produce marketing and communication materials which cannot be produced in-house.
9. Develop marketing and communication strategies collaboratively to further Zoar's internal and external communication, while maintaining our brand and mission.
10. Oversee video products, including streamed events, posts, ads, and all other video content.
Committee Support
1. Co-chair the monthly Communication Committee meeting with the volunteer chair.
2. Attend other meetings as requested by Council or the pastor/s.
3. Complete other duties as assigned by the pastor/s, or Council.
Qualifications
1. Creative with an eye for detail and a working knowledge of design software (ie. InDesign, Canva, etc.)
2. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or other related field, and/or a minimum of five years of commensurate experience is preferred. Web design and/or graphic design experience is a plus.
3. organized, forward thinking, and able to multi-task.
4. Skilled in the art of writing, editing, and conveying messages to a wide and diverse audience.
5. Self-motivated, takes initiative, willingness to learn, and committed to follow-through, moving tasks from inception to completion.
6. Awareness of inclusive language and messaging, and committed to monitoring and reviewing communications through that lens.
7. Experience using PC computers with programs such as Office 365, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Wix and Canva preferred
8. Proficiency using social media including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tiktok. Experience with video streaming, recording, and/or production to social media is a plus.
9. Professional attitude, with leadership and collaboration skills, who works well as a team with staff and volunteers.
10. Confident in public and interpersonal verbal communications.
Employment Parameters
1. Eligible to work in Ohio as a part-time, non-exempt employee at Zoar Lutheran Church.
2. Position is 20-hour maximum per week, with no overtime available. Benefits include vacation, PTO, and holidays.
3. Completed bi-weekly timecards are required to receive pay.
4. Pay will be by direct deposit every two weeks, consistent with Zoar's normal pay periods.
5. The hourly pay rate will be determined based on the applicant’s knowledge and experiences.
6. Appropriate tools and budget for completing this job will be provided by Zoar and all rights, equipment, and programs will always remain the property of Zoar.
7. Employment is subject to positive outcomes for criminal background checks through fingerprinting and substance abuse testing, at Zoar's discretion.
