The Human Resources Director oversees the operations, compliance, and management of the Human Resources Department of Bittersweet. This role requires a highly motivated individual with exceptional leadership, employee relations, and interpersonal communication skills. This position works closely with the Bittersweet leadership team in areas of employee relations, training compliance and staff development.
Primary responsibilities for the position include:
- Assist the departmental management team in all areas of employee relations including disciplinary actions, investigations, termination, proper documentation, management techniques and staff development
- Oversight of staff development including coordination of training standards compliance for newly hired employees, current employees, and leadership
- Ensure all areas of employee recruitment meet organizational needs and remain within budget
- Create, implement, and educate employees on human resources policies and procedures of Bittersweet
- Responsible for supervision and performance management of the Human Resources Specialist and Recruiting Specialist
- Create and oversee employee recognition programs, incentives and employee retention initiatives
- Responsible for employee benefit enrollment, annual open enrollment and compliance filings
Qualified candidates must possess:
- Five or more years’ experience functioning as a Human Resources Manager or Director with extensive employee relations experience.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Non-profit experience a plus.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialization in human resource management, or equivalent experience in human resource management is required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
