Aurora Project, Inc. is seeking dependable and compassionate individuals for two full-time House Monitor positions. 8a-4p or 4p- midnight. M-F and as needed. These roles support the safety, security, and stability of women and children residing in our transitional housing program. The House Monitor ensures consistent day and evening coverage, following Aurora’s trauma-informed and recovery-focused model.

Position Summary

The House Monitor ensures the safety, security, and well-being of residents and their children during day and evening hours. Monitors maintain order in the facility, implement program processes, complete documentation, and respond calmly and professionally to any situations or emergencies. This role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, compassionate, and skilled at maintaining professional boundaries in a supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment.
  • Conduct regular rounds and document activities in shift logs.
  • Implement house processes respectfully and consistently.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, or resident concerns.
  • Communicate important updates to other staff and supervisors.
  • Perform facility checks and light housekeeping tasks.
  • Support residents using trauma-informed, respectful interactions.
  • Attend staff meetings and required training sessions.
  • May be scheduled to work holidays as part of continuous program coverage.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in residential, shelter, or human services preferred but not required.
  • Must demonstrate dependability, consistent work history, sound judgment, and clear communication.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Must pass a background check and TB screening.  Drug testing may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
