GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB.  Oversee and direct the finance operations of the Northwest Ohio Area Services, including Area Services, Corps, Service Centers, and Service Units. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.  

  1. Record and enter into Serenic all financial journals on a monthly basis.
  2. Assist to enter income and accounts receivable items, as needed.
  3. Entry into Account Payable module based on invoices and disbursements data provided.
  4. Provide Cash Disbursements Report to Area Coordinator to obtain approval for payment to vendors.
  5. Develop and revise budgets for Area Services, Corps, Service Centers and Service Units.
  6. Enter the budget numbers in the Shelby system as the budgets are completed and approved.
  7. Monthly reporting requirements; including but not limited to: DHQ monthly financial reporting package, including Support Service computations and fiscal year-end projection summary with potential narrative; and Monthly reporting for distribution to advisory organizations
  8. Complete annual summaries as requested; including but not limited to: Fiscal Year End reporting schedules, Christmas Brief, and Fundraising Income and Activity Report.
  9. Review all expenses and income on a daily basis to make sure that they have been entered against the correct account number.

10.   Analyze all balance sheet items monthly to determine the correctness of same.

  1. Coordinate processing employee and Officer payroll transmittals.
  2. Coordinate preparation of financial information/documentation for audits.
  3. Develop the financial portion of the application for funds from the United Way and ensure adherence to grant financial requirements and reporting.
  4. Develop the financial portion of applications for all grants that the agency might apply for throughout the year and ensure adherence to grant financial requirements and reporting.
  5. Support Area Coordinators in answering all questions presented dealing with the financial reports that are distributed to Corps, Service Centers, Service Units, and Divisional Headquarters.

16.  Additional responsibilities as requested by the Area Coordinators.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related experience. Minimum of 10 years of successful experience in the management of the financial operations of an organization and supervision of individuals. Familiar with the Accounting Guidelines for Corps Accounting in the Eastern Territory.  Knowledge of not-for-profit accounting concepts is preferred.  

Full time - 40 hours per week

Salary $55,000 - $60,000
