Health Council of Northwest Ohio (HCNO) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Philanthropy and Business Development to lead our efforts in building meaningful community relationships and securing vital funding for our health outcome-focused non-profit organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact by fostering partnerships, driving fundraising initiatives, and expanding our organization’s reach within the community.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropy and business development strategy to increase organizational revenue and strengthen community partnerships.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with businesses, foundations, nonprofits, and community organizations to support collaborative health initiatives.
• Lead fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, solicitation, sponsorship development, and securing direct contributions from community partners.
• Plan and execute fundraising events, including logistics, engagement strategies, promotion, sponsorships, and follow-up.
• Identify and develop strategic partnerships that advance regional health outcomes and expand the organization’s reach.
• Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and materials that communicate the mission and impact of the organization.
• Manage donor stewardship, recognition efforts, and ongoing relationship engagement.
• Track fundraising progress, donor activity, and partnership engagement; provide regular reports to leadership and the Board.
• Represent the organization at community meetings, networking events, conferences, and public presentations.
• Support organizational strategic planning and special initiatives related to philanthropy and business development.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, public relations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, philanthropy, or business development within a nonprofit or health-related environment required.
• Proven experience cultivating donor relationships, securing sponsorships, and generating revenue through philanthropic initiatives.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience planning and executing fundraising events strongly desired.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and represent the organization professionally in public and community settings.
• Local and regional travel required for meetings, events, and engagement activities; some evenings and/or weekend work may be required.
